The Christian Brothers Community San Francisco, California

Br. Thomas,

Hearty congratulations on your election as the Vicar General.  I am confident that the entire Institute will profit from you leadership. We in the Region will miss you of course, but our loss is Rome's gain!

Br. Ron Gallagher

Wow our loss is a great gain for the Institute.
Congratulations, Tom. I'm delighted!
Rome, Sweet Rome.....

Fraternalmente, Larry Schatz

Tom,

Congratulations (I hope) on your election.  You will provide a creative, energetic and faithful associate to Br. Alvaro and to all who you will be asked to serve. I hope you were not totally stunned by the selection.

Ray

Dear Brother Thomas,

I am delighted with your election. As I said to you at Heuther I am a big fan of yours. May the gifts of Holy Spirit be abuntantly bestowed. Many blessings in your new ministry,

Cecilia Gottsegen, Bishop Loughlin MHS

Tom,

I was just in Naperville for the weekend..... a whirlwind of activity for my sister's 50th, and as I was driving on 55, i literally said to myself"I have GOT to send Tom a card that tells him how pleased we are that he's
back HOME in OUR district"!!! And when I'm back here I'll have to meet him in Burr Ridge for dinner....Well, I guess the Holy Spirit had different plans this week of Pentecost!!     I am so pleased for we Lasallians, and excited for you,(Iwas just @ the Motherhouse for 2 weeks @ Spring Break), but  know that we will miss you, here in the midwest!!Your leadership is much needed in the Institute......and I guess God is saying that we'll just have to come to YOU!(I don't think going to Rome falls in to the "offering it up" category!!)     So, best wishes, bask in the glory before all of the hard work begins, and know that I'm praying fervently for you that this will be as wonderful for you as it will be for  all the rest of we Lasallians! All the best, Tom!

Mary Brennan

Tom,

I was not surprised to hear that Br. Alvaro was re-elected as S. G., but I just received that news this morning.  Mike Flaherty mentioned that he had heard it yesterday while visiting the Westmont Community for Memorial Day lunch. HOWEVER, as I was leaving the building for the third time this morning (tonight is graduation at Holy Name, and you might remember how hectic the "day of" can get), Jaime Sepulcre said, "I hear we have a new Vicar General.  Being a little distracted, I said, "Yes, I'd heard."  Then I realized what he had said, and I asked, "Who is it?"   And the rest, as they say, is history!  How terrific that news was, and how generous of you to assume that role for the advancement of the Institute!  I knew your election as a Chapter delegate was "inspired" (and YES I did vote for you!), and I have to say that I always felt that either you or Frank would not return to the good ol' Midwest District...at least right away. FRATERNAL CONGRATULATIONS on your election as Vicar General.  The Brothers continue to make wise choices! And to think I knew you when...

Konrad

Felicidades. Que el Señor te bendiga y te ilumine en este ministerio.

Dear Brother Tom,

It is amazing to realize how quickly we are notified here of all that you are doing in Rome.  I must admit, when I first read of your election, I felt "loss" for our region.  But I am very happy for you.  I wish you health and interesting work.  It is wonderful to consider that your skills and gifts will now be shared with the entire Lasallian World.  Congratulations.  You'll be in my prayers.  Thank you for serving.

Marianne

Congratulations Br. Tom.

I am so happy for the Institute. We will miss you at the office within the Distirct and I was certainly looking forward to you being part of our community in Chicago, but certainly feel blessed that you are in such an important leadership role for us. Know you have my prayers and support.

Dear Brother Thomas,

Maybe you don´t remember me. I am Brother Armando Solano Suárez, from Bogota, District. I was in the meeting with the young people in Denver Colorado, in 1993, and then I traveled to Chicago, Il, where you were Brothrer Visitor; then, I said hello in Winona Mn, in the meeting at Saint Mary´s University, On September 2003, I was with other Colombian Brothers, in a special experience. On December 2003, thanks to Brother Patrick Conway,  we were visiting Washington DC, and I was resting in your Bedroom a couple of days, so thanks a lot. Right Now, I just to know that you are the new “Vicario General”, so
Congratulations dear Brother Tom, God Bless you in this new Ministery to our Institute and Church.
Here in Colombia, my poor prayers, and Our Lady, Mary, Bless you in this New Mission. I am sorry with my English.
Sincerelly,

Brother Armando
