Brother Francis Carr, Midwest District Visitor
Representing the Visitors of the Region at the request of Brother Michael Corry, Regional Director

November 16, 2001

At their first meeting since the September 11 terrorist attacks in New York and Washington DC, the Visitors of the United States/Toronto Region acknowledged and expressed sincere gratitude for the large number of messages sent from around the world to the Regional office and the Districts of the USA/Toronto Region. While the Districts on the East coast of the United States received the largest number of e-mails and letters expressing concern and sympathy, all Districts of the Region received messages. We would like Brothers and Lasallians all over the world to know that we are most grateful for your concern and for your prayers. We also want you to know that none of our schools in New York or Washington were directly affected by the damage that was done, although there are surely deaths from among parents and relatives of the students and among alumni of our schools and universities. We ask that you continue to pray for those people who were most directly affected, since their sorrow is deep. We pray that God will increase their faith and give them hope at this difficult time.
