One hundred Young Lasallians and Brothers of the Christian Schools met to celebrate Easter in Parmenia:
"Builders of Christ, God Is Counting On You!"
Again, Easter in Parmenia was a rich moment to share, in reflections and in prayers thanks to all of the youth that came from the four cardinal points of France and also from the Spanish Basque Country and, of course, thanks to excellent organization.
It all started on Saturday afternoon, when all of the teams began to understand and discover the thread that ran through the entire meeting: "Dare to believe, dare to speak it". At the end of the afternoon, the youth met at the chapel to celebrate the first moment of prayer, thanks to the Celebration of Forgiveness.
Preceded by the March of Lights- that was done on the patio because of the rain-, where text and song are alternated, the Easter Vigil was a very strong and profound moment. The reading of the magnificent text of Genesis was accompanied by the setting of the altar. The altar, sober but beautiful, was made by youth with great social and academic difficulties (belonging to the Association A.J.R.:Avenir Jeunes Reims (Future Youth of Reims), that facilitates the social rehabilitation of these youth, along with those of HEC). They, through their participation, aided the assembly in their prayer. Father Michel, in his homily, insisted that the character of gratitude and the aspect of meeting are inherent to the Resurrection and also gave three examples on how to live it out in our daily lives. After the Easter Vigil, the group had the opportunity to taste specialties from different parts of France; Reims, Rennes, Lille, Lyon o Saint-Étienne, as well as from the Spanish Basque Country.
The Easter mass was equally an incredible time in the weekend experience. The joy of the risen Christ illuminated the assembly. The homily of Father Michel was vibrant. Dare to believe, dare to speak the faith of each person can be summarized in four steps: keep your faith (that is, live it internally), decipher it, translate it and lastly, proclaim it. This is, without a doubt, the path of faith of a believer, of a Christian. Dare to speak your faith, that to which you have promised yourself, is the challenge of today, although it seems that everyone around us hears us and is very fixed on what we do. But, we have the triumphs, the best cards: Our God isn’t a theory, but a communion, a meeting, a thirst for the mission, to believe in progress. We believe that each person has a place in society. In this way, faith can take any form and that which we can give it does not exist yet, <<so, let’s make it!>>. The silence that followed was striking.
After a short break, where everyone could rest, sing, walk or even chat, the youth reflected again on the difficulty of proclaiming our faith. Afterwards came the prayers of intention, and the songs of praise.
Next was a game with different tests like acting out the arrival of St. John Baptist de LaSalle in Parmenia! The atmosphere was total joy and very fun. Finally, the meeting ended on Monday morning with the last moment of prayer and with the words of Brother Thierry Bonneau.
