44th General Chapter, 2007: Interactive Process

In order to help the interactive process in preparation for the 44th General Chapter we are offering the following possibilities.

1. Notes for the General Chapter: they may be sent to the Secretary General up to September 1st 2006, as specified in Circular No. 453, p.21

2. Contributions for the General Chapter

The Regions, and Districts as well as the Communities or groups of Brothers may send “Contributions” for the General Chapter.

- The final date for sending ‘Contributions’ is Saturday March 31st 07.
- The ‘Contributions’ should come from groups of Brothers.
- The ‘Contribution’ should include the following heading:

“Contribution to the _______Document“
Region/District/Community/ Group of Brothers. Date

- They should be sent to the Secretary General: lgkipper@lasalle.org
or by ordinary mail.

- The “Contributions” will not be translated. They will be collected and will be made available to the Capitulants during the General Chapter.

- It is also essential that the “Contributions” be sent to the Capitulant(s) of your own District, taking into account what is indicated in Circular 454 p.15:

“The delegates who have at their disposal the results of the reflection done by individual Brothers, or groups of Brothers or communities of Brothers, will then be able to integrate these into the Chapter process”

3. Shared Reflections

- The groups of Brothers are invited to share their reflections on Document 2 from “The ‘Ad hoc’ Committee on the Rule and Document 3 “Being Brothers Today
- The date limit for sending these “Shared Reflections” is Wednesday February 28th 07.
- The “Shared Reflections” should be sent to a member of the Preparatory Commission for the General Chapter who, after analyzing them, will judge whether it is opportune to publish them in part or completely. In this way we hope to avoid possible problems with texts which are long, ‘narrow’ (limited to what is peculiar to one area) or dealing with subjects not related to the 2 Documents being reflected on.

- The “Shared Reflections” should be sent to the following:

in Spanish
Br.Carlos Gómez hercarlos@hotmail.com
in English
Br.Peter Iorlano piorlano@bethlehem.edu
in French
Br.Pierre Ouattara ouattaraspierre@yahoo.fr
in Portuguese
Br.Edgar Nicodem enicodem@terra.com.br
in Italian
Br.Stefano Agostini stefano.agostini@lasalleitalia.it

- These Brothers will send what is to be published to the Director of the Institute Web Site, Br.Roch Dufresne: lasallew@lasalle.org

- From July 18 2006, there will be a space available on the Institute Web site: www.lasalle.org where Brothers will be able to read the Shared Reflections.

- Access to this space will be limited and only those using the password will be given access. In this way we will be able to maintain privacy.
