Program Description: A year-round community based organization that provides adult basic education, counseling, after school youth programs and summer camps. The camps are run in Goshen, New York on 150 acres of land that has an organic garden, trails, ponds and playing fields.

Population Served: Urban youth and adults from the South Bronx

Geographical Area of Service: New York City-especially the South Bronx

Gifts/Skills/Talents most needed: Men and women to run camps, grow organic vegetables, help with youth programs.

Age Minimum: 20-65 yrs.

Minimum/Maximum length of service: 1 week to 3 months, between June 1 and September 1.

Housing Accommodations: A large former boarding school in Goshen, New York or at the Lasallian Community in the Bronx, NY. The Bronx community is comprised of Brothers and Lasallian Volunteers during the regular school year. The number of rooms available varies each summer.

Application Requirements: 2 months advance notice is preferred.

Special Notes:
During the regular school year we can accommodate small immersion groups, but not during the summer months.
Married couples (w/o dependents) are welcome at any time. Married couples w/dependents can be negotiated during certain times of the year.
Volunteers do not need to be Catholic.

Orientation: An orientation to the apostolate and community will be provided upon arrival.
