Program Description: Small, inner-city middle school, grades 6th-8th grade (by Fall of 2002).

Population Served: Students not experiencing success in tradition public and private institutions; mainly Latino.

Geographical Area of Service: South Minneapolis; Phillips neighborhood

Gifts/Skills/Talents most needed: Tutors and teachers; persons who really like working with middle school aged children.

Age Minimum: 18 and up.

Minimum/Maximum length of service: 1 week to 3 months, depending.

Housing Accommodations: TBA

Benefits: Room and Board.

Application Requirements: Ideally, contact us 2-3 months in advance.

Special Notes: At the time of this directory being compiled, we do not have an established community space large enough to accommodate immersion groups, married couple or married w/dependents. However, we are working towards a community space that will accommodate immersion groups up to 12, and married couples (w/o dependents). Who knows, maybe we already have the space by the time you are reading this!

Volunteers do not need to be Catholic.

Orientation: Apostolate and community orientation would be provided upon arrival.
