BOGOTA - COLOMBIA - VISIT OF PRESIDENT URIBE TO DE LA SALLE UNIVERSITY: President Alvaro Uribe Velez, President of the Republic of Colombia, visited De La Salle University on October 24th last. 

MALTA - VISIT OF BR. JACQUES D'HUITEAU, COUNCILLOR GENERAL RELEM , AND BR. AIDAN KILTY VISITOR OF DISTRICT GREAT BRITAIN & MALTA: For a whole week we were blessed with the visit of two major Superiors ,Bros .  Jacques d'Huiteau and Aidan Kilty .

CAIRO – EGYPT- STOPOVER BY BR. SUPERIOR GENERAL: The Superior-General, Br.Alvaro Rodriguez spent Sunday October 26th in Cairo, where he met the Brothers of the Sector and those in charge of Lasallian Institutions in Egypt.

ROME – ITALY - YOUNG LASALLIAN LEADERSHIP FORMATION PROGRAM: Preparations are underway for a Young Lasallian Leadership Formation Program to take place here at the Generalate in July of ’09. 

PARMA - ITALY - THE FIRST STONE OF THE NEW ISTITUTO DE LA SALLE IS LAID: On Saturday 27th 2008, a ceremony was held at which the first stone was laid of the new Istituto De La Salle educational complex.

ROME – ITALY - CIL 2008/09  THE WORD, THE MINISTERS, THE MISSION: On Monday, October 27, the new CIL session began.  CIL is 40 years old this year! The 2008-2008 has a double attendance. 

COLON - PANAMA - 6th LASALLIAN SONG FESTIVAL FOR WORLD PEACE: The 6th Lasallian Song Festival for World Peace was held in the gymnasium of La Salle San Jose College, on October 27th.

CUNDINAMARCA - COLOMBIA - THE “KAIROS” MOVEMENT FOR A DIFFERENT WORLD: To bring to light in young people the living and active presence of Jesus, who invites us to see things with the eyes of faith;

USA/TORONTO - NEW VOCATION WEBSITE:  A new website about the vocation of the Brothers was recently launched on the internet. The URL address is the same as in the past - www.brothersvocation.org, but the content is completely new.

THE BROTHERS IN CAIRO COOPERATED FOR A LONG TIME WITH SISTER EMMANUELLE: Sister Emmanuelle, who recently died aged 100 and was known throughout the entire world for her work for the poor rubbish-dump scavengers in Egypt, had excellent relations of missionary cooperation with the Brothers in Cairo.

USA/TORONTO - "SOUL FOR SOUL - THE VOCATION OF THE CHILD IN LASALLIAN PEDAGOGY": Brother George Van Grieken's (San Francisco District) "Soul for Soul - The Vocation of the Child in Lasallian Pedagogy" is included in the recently published The Vocation of the Child.

LAVAL - CANADA -  SITE OF SCHOOLS TEXTBOOKS PRODUCED BY THE BROTHERS OF THE CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS AROUND THE WORLD:  The production of school text-books as basic tools in the accomplishment of our pedagogical mission goes back to the very beginnings of our Institute: our Founder edited and published a syllabary of which, unfortunately, no copy remains.
