Following the call from the delegates from around the Lasallian world present at the International Symposium for Young Lasallians (ISYL’06), the first edition of the International Lasallian Day of Prayer for Peace (ILDPP) was held in October 2007.
Following the success of the first activity in 2007, ICYL is now pleased to invite all Regions, Districts, Young Lasallian Movements and schools to come together for the follow up initiative for ILDPP’07
This international communal prayer for peace should be taken up in unison by as many Regions, Districts, Young Lasallian movements, schools and communities as possible and should take place during the 4th week of October - between Monday the 20th and Sunday the 26th, 2008. Even though activities could be spread throughout the whole week, these should ideally culminate with a special activity on Sunday October 26th to ensure that we share our intentions together on the same day as much as possible.
As Lasallians we believe a better world of justice and peace is possible. Our mission is to make it happen one person at a time. Hope you don’t miss out!

"So, when people live in peace with God and one another, the earth truly resembles a "paradise".
Unfortunately, sin ruins ever anew this divine project, causing division and introducing death into the world. Thus, humanity succumbs to the temptations of the Evil One and wages war against itself. Patches of "hell" are consequently also created in this marvellous "garden" which is the world.

Once again I am delighted with the initiative of the International Lasallian Youth Movement for its invitation to all of us who make up this great family to pray for peace in a special way on October 21 and to be men and women of peace, building it day by day in our actions and options. >>> |
